Rosie's Food & Wine Tour in France

An invitation from Rosie Cupitt

Most people know about my deep love for France (and Italy). For 12 years, I was privileged to guide small groups through the France I hold dear, sharing the hidden gems and unforgettable experiences that have shaped my passion for this beautiful country. After years of focusing on Cupitt’s Estate, I am thrilled to announce my return to leading tours in 2025, beginning with an exclusive journey through Bordeaux, the Dordogne, and the Loire Valley.

This carefully curated tour is designed for those who appreciate fine wine, exquisite cuisine, and the timeless beauty of France’s most celebrated regions. Limited to just 8 guests, this intimate experience offers Wine Club members first access.

What Awaits You on This Exclusive Tour

Bordeaux: France’s Wine Capital

We begin in Bordeaux City, a vibrant hub of stunning architecture and deep wine heritage. Staying in a chic boutique hotel, we’ll explore the city’s best dining, including two distinctive restaurants that showcase the diversity of Bordeaux’s culinary scene. Our journey takes us to the famed St. Émilion, where we’ll tour ancient underground cellars and sample the iconic Merlot-dominant wines of the Right Bank, all while soaking in the picturesque countryside.

The Médoc and Coastal Beauty

Moving on to the Médoc, we’ll stay amidst the world-famous vineyards of St. Estèphe for three nights. Here, we’ll visit premier wineries, explore the windswept coastline of Cap Ferret, and indulge in lunches at a historic winemakers’ bistro and a charming seaside gem.

Monpazier: Gardens and Gourmet Delights

En route to Monpazier, we’ll visit a breathtaking private garden and hear its fascinating history. This vibrant region will be our home for two nights, where we’ll enjoy exceptional dinners at a Michelin-starred restaurant and explore local wineries and celebrated gardens of the Dordogne.

The Loire Valley: Châteaux and Chenin Blanc

Next, we head to the Western Loire Valley, home to the famous Chenin Blanc (Vouvray) and grand châteaux of French royalty. Our two-night stay will be in a fairy-tale château, allowing us to explore the area’s historic gardens and wineries in true elegance. We’ll also reconnect with an old friend in Chemery, where we’ll descend into his limestone cellar, 45 meters underground, for an intimate wine-tasting experience.

Sancerre: Sauvignon Blanc and Goat Cheese

In Sancerre, the homeland of Sauvignon Blanc, we’ll visit my dear friend and mentor, Alphonse Mellot, whose family has crafted wines for over 500 years. Our journey will include a deep dive into his extraordinary underground winery, a classic goat cheese tasting, and a meal at one of my most beloved village restaurants.

Le Doyenné: A Grand Finale

For our final night, we’ll stay at the stunning Le Doyenné, a beautifully restored barn estate featuring an exceptional farm-to-table restaurant run by Australian chefs James Henry and Shaun Kelly. Our farewell dinner and breakfast here will perfectly end this unforgettable journey, with easy onward travel to Paris.
